As we celebrate Grandparents Day, we take a moment to recognize the wisdom, care, and resilience of the older generation. Grandparents are the heart of many families, and at Mediconnect, we’re proud to serve as a trusted resource in helping them protect their health and navigate the complexities of Medicare.
In this second installment of our five-week “AEP Prep” series, we’re focusing on one of the most important—and often overlooked—documents that Medicare beneficiaries receive each year: the Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC).
If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage (Part C) or Part D prescription drug plan, your ANOC should arrive by September 30. This document outlines all changes to your plan for the coming year, including:
- Monthly premium increases or decreases
- Changes to drug coverage and formulary tiers
- Adjustments to provider networks or service areas
- Copayment or deductible updates
These changes go into effect on January 1, 2026, but reviewing your ANOC early allows you to decide whether your current plan still meets your needs—or if it’s time to explore other options during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) from October 15 to December 7.
Too often, beneficiaries either ignore the ANOC or aren’t sure how to interpret it. That’s why Mediconnect offers free, personalized consultations with licensed Medicare advisors who can help you understand your plan, evaluate changes, and prepare confidently for AEP.
Let this Grandparents Day be more than a celebration—let it be a call to action to ensure the grandparents in your life have the support they need. Mediconnect is honored to walk alongside them on this journey.
Coming next week in Part 3: We’ll explore the key industry trends shaping Medicare in 2026, including plan competition, rising drug costs, and new benefits to watch for.
